The Right Pool Lighting Matters!
Swimming can be a fun hobby. For those of us lucky enough to have our own pool, swimming tends to be a regular pastime. Unfortunately, improper pool lighting can prevent swimming at night. By adding pool lights to the backyard swimming pool, home owners can now do this fun activity at any hour of the day.
For safety reasons, night swimming should only be done if there is adequate light. Adding swimming pool lighting can greatly raise the safety of the pool. Swimming pool lights come in many forms, from practical to just plain fun. Pool deck lights are important for the safety of the swimmers. People need to be able to see all areas that surround the pool. If pool light isn’t illuminating the deck, someone may trip and fall.
A swimming pool light bulb can come in many forms. Solar pool light is one of the most efficient ways to light a pool. It’s fairly inexpensive and doesn’t use any electricity. Floating solar pool light is a great way to add a fun atmosphere to the pool. The light floats at the surface of the pool, making it cool to look at as well as fun to swim in. Another kind of swimming pool light is an LED light. LED pool lights use very little electricity and last a lot longer than normal light bulbs. This technology is fairly new, so LED lights may be a bit more expensive to purchase than solar ones. Swimming pool lights can also be used the old fashioned way: with just a regular light bulb and electricity. Although this is more expensive in the long run, it doesn’t force the home owner to buy new fixtures. If this method is used, a pool light junction box is needed. Junction boxes hold all the controls for the electrical pool lights and are usually set fairly far from the pool so that they don’t get hit with water.

One fun way to add a little excitement to a night time pool party is to use black pool lights. These add an eerie ambiance to the pool that is unmistakable. Black lights illuminate colors differently, so colors such as white will glow much more brightly than normal.
There are many brands to choose from, such as Pentair pool lights. When browsing for lights, remember the benefits of solar and LED technology. Also, don’t forget to have a little fun! Floating lights or black lights can do just that.
